Welcome to this karma experiment! 10 Months, 1 Week ago Karma: 0
Welcome,
I'd like to invite you to an experiment, I've dubbed it the Karma Experiment. The idea is to become a bit more intentional about how we affect others and how a little goes a long way...

Through this experiment I believe we will build stronger connections and a community in which we are valued for who we are and what we bring. This is so much more than the job specifics we fulfill each day. I believe our society has become one that has narrowed our scope of what is valued: we define each other by title ('what do you do' is often the first question we ask when meeting people) and by the salary earned. But when I look around, the people I have the opportunity to be with, spend time with and work side by side with, they are so much more than their job or income. And I hear/ feel/ see the need for a deeper sense of belonging, appreciation and even validation of ourselves and each other. That is what this experiment is about.

The idea is to offer help, ask for help and do acts of generosity, without asking for something in return. It is my belief that when you do something intentionally for someone else, somehow this 'good deed' will be returned. (some say in ten-fold, which is fine by me!) The fun comes in when we learn more about our friends and family: things we may not have expected of them at all! At the same time, we individually have the opportunity to share some of our hidden skills or interests with others... Doing these acts of kindness develops more trust in each other, and a deeper appreciation of each others' value.

I know, long explanation, so thank you for staying with me! So how do we do this? I invite you to create a brief post with the following: what do you like? What would you like to do for or with others? And most importantly, what would you like help with? Please be as open and as specific as you can, think out of the box, be creative! And then share your experiences with us...

How is this for a start? I'm sure that as we get going we will give this more shape...
Thanks for playing and I look forward to hearing about your experiences!
With much love and gratitude,
Marije
